vrooooom.

Well, it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything on my blog :/ Life has been moving by pretty fast and I’ve taken a hiatus from the internet (as much as possible) when I’m not at work. One of my newest endeavours is getting a motorcycle. Dusty and I have decided that we’re starting our own motorcycle gang called the Terrordactyls haha. We’re going to terrorize the streets of H’burg on Honda Rebels :D No, in all seriousness though,  it’s something that we’ve been talking about for a while now and we’re finally through with just talking about it. We figured it was time to step up and get some bikes. Since neither one of us has much experience riding we figured we would start off with 250cc Honda Rebels and work our way up. I’ve ridden dirtbikes and a few crotch rockets here and there but I’ve never ridden a real motorcycle. I think it’s going to be a great investment though. It’ll give us something to do besides sitting around watching tv or mindlessly surfing the internet and I think, in my opinion, it’ll be something that will stick with us (or just me?) forever. I’ve always envied people driving around on their bikes, telling the world “fuck you world!” haha.

I’ve been neglecting my blog lately :/ I’m going to post pictures and reviews of the new teas later this week.

Consider it a work in progress.

When I first decided to start a blog I assumed it would be a photo-centric blog. I also counted on it turning into a natural extension of myself. Little did I know how things would change and now I barely have time for anything but I know I could make time for this. I’ve had a weird few months so I haven’t been taking any pictures or really writing about anything. I’m not really a writer anyhow but I find some peace of mind in writing that keeps drawing me back. Even if it’s just scratching out a few paragraphs on how I feel at that certain moment, it still keeps pulling me back and demanding attention. My goal is to put more time towards the things that make me happy, such as writing, photography and design. You (my three loyal readers) should expect to see more photo posts, more actual blog posts with more than six words and some of my design work. I didn’t buy a nice new Macbook to dick off with, I bought it thinking that it would motivate me to use the time (and space) I have to share my work with the intarwebs. On the bright side, I often update Twitter and Facebook every day and sometimes multiple times a day, both of which you can find a link to at the top of this page.

Last Wednesday I ordered a new 2.13ghz Macbook to replace the iBook. Although I’ve owned (and still own) quite a few computers in the past 10 years, I’ve always considered my Mac to be my real workhorse. The iBook has been a damn good computer but the single-core 1ghz processor and 512mb RAM just aren’t cutting it anymore. I went ahead and ordered 4gb RAM for the new Macbook, and instead of ordering a bigger HDD, I’m just going to use the two 500gb Passport drives I have for storage. I took a look at the new Macbook Pro line but I can’t get over the buttonless trackpad. It’s not that I wouldn’t be able to adapt to it, I just don’t like the idea of not having a button there. On top of that, all of the added multi-touch features that you CAN’T turn off would really piss me off. Pinching and rotating pictures can be done just as quickly and as easily with the frakking button. Those things were just annoyances that I didn’t want to pay for. The real kicker for me was the fact that the battery can never be changed. EVER. Yeah, yeah.. The unibody is bitchin’, but bitchin’ only goes so far when it starts to interfere with the performance of such an expensive piece of machinery. What happens when the battery goes bad? Are you just supposed to throw the thing away? F-U-C-K THAT. So that is why I ultimately chose the Macbook.
